Englisch spielerisch: die Klasse 8b im Unterricht mit Lehrerin Maren König.

"Keep talking and nobody explodes!"

Last week, class 8b and Miss König worked together with the University of Muenster in an exciting school project called *GameON*. A team from the University of Muenster transformed our classroom into a Filmset, they set up ten cameras and filmed us during the project to scientifically analyse how we work together and handle the tasks.

In the project learned how important communication, teamwork, and thinking carefully are, while defusing digital bombs. To defuse the virtual bombs in time, we had to solve different puzzles. These puzzles were tricky and needed the team members to keep talking.

The class was divided into several groups, and each member was assigned a different role. Two students were in charge of finding a good strategy as well as words and phrases to keep talking. While one student was the bomb defuser, another one read the manual and gave instructions. The team worked closely together to understand the manual and give step-by-step instructions to the defuser. We had to make sure we understand each other and would not miss any details - otherwise the bomb would go off.

The bomb defuser had to stay calm and trust his or her teammates. He or she needed to follow the instructions carefully, because any mistakes or misunderstandings could make them fail.

Throughout the project, we learned that communication was the most important aspect. If we made a mistake or didn’t communicate clearly, we could lose time or fail to defuse the bomb. We quickly learned that clear, simple and strategic communication was key to winning. We didn’t even notice that we spoke English all the time.

With each level up our skills in solving puzzles, remembering information, recognizing patterns, and making quick decisions were tested. Defusing bombs got harder, which challenged us improve our communication and problem-solving skills.

We took on the challenge with a lot of enthusiasm and teamwork. The "GameON!" project was not only fun for all students of class 08 B but also a great way to learn important skills that will help us in the future.
